A journey through two decades of market mastery
Hello, I’m Chris, a professional trader with over 20 years in the markets. My journey began in 2006 as a swing and position trader, comfortable holding trades for days or even weeks using simple moving averages. I rode the bull market until the 2008 crash, which completely changed the rules and forced me to evolve.
Over the years, I've integrated macro awareness, oil balance analysis, risk-on/risk-off signals, and deeper analytical tools into my strategy. Today, I operate strictly intraday. I no longer hold overnight positions—that's a game for large funds with deep pockets. My specialisation lies in Energy, specifically Oil, WTI, and USO, because I believe oil is fundamentally an intraday market best traded in alignment with market makers.
From swing trading to intraday precision
This journey represents 20 years of real, hands-on experience—from a swing trader in 2006 to a professional intraday operator today. By 2019–2020, I had built a strong edge as a swing trader, but the lockdown provided me with the opportunity to fully upgrade my skills.
I transitioned to TradingView, meticulously studied order flow and algorithmic behaviour, and completely transformed my approach into a precise intraday system. It was during this period that the Deep Oil Framework was born, designed to empower traders with actionable insights into the energy markets.
